Branded QR Codes for Event Photo Access: Design, Print, and Place
A QR code is the bridge between your physical event and your digital photo gallery. But not all QR codes are created equal. A well-designed, strategically placed branded QR code can be the difference between 20% gallery access and 80% gallery access at your event.
Designing Your QR Code
Branding elements
- Add your event logo or photography business logo to the center of the QR code.
- Use your brand colors for the QR code pattern (dark purple on white works well for Kamero-branded events).
- Include a clear call-to-action text below the QR code: "Scan to see your event photos."
- Add the event name and date for context.
Technical requirements
- Use high error correction (Level H) so the QR code works even with a logo overlay.
- Minimum size: 3cm × 3cm for table cards, 10cm × 10cm for standees.
- Test the QR code on multiple phones before printing — scan from the expected distance.
- Use a short, clean URL for the QR code destination.
Printing Guidelines
- Table cards: 10cm × 15cm cards with QR code, event name, and brief instructions. Laminate for durability.
- Standees: A4 or A3 size with large QR code. Place at eye level.
- Posters: A2 or larger for high-traffic areas. QR code should be at least 15cm × 15cm.
- Stickers: Small QR code stickers on name badges, wristbands, or event programs.
- Banners: Include QR code on stage banners and backdrop — visible in event photos too.
Placement Strategy
The goal is to make the QR code impossible to miss. Place them where guests naturally pause:
- Registration/entrance: First touchpoint. Every guest sees it on arrival.
- Every table: Table cards ensure seated guests have easy access.
- Bar/food area: Guests waiting for drinks or food have time to scan.
- Near the stage: Guests looking at the stage will notice nearby QR codes.
- Restroom area: High dwell time — people scan while waiting.
- Exit/farewell area: Last chance to scan before leaving.
- Photo booth area: Natural pairing — take a photo, then scan to see all your photos.
Maximizing Scan Rates
- MC announcements: Have the host mention the QR code 2-3 times during the event.
- Visual instructions: Include a small illustration showing how to scan (phone camera → QR code → gallery).
- Incentive: "Scan to see your photos — and find yourself using AI face recognition!"
- Social proof: Once a few guests start scanning and finding their photos, others follow.
- Multiple formats: Some guests prefer typing a short URL. Include both QR code and a short link like kamero.ai/e/[code].
QR Codes for Different Event Types

Tracking QR Code Performance
- Monitor gallery access in real-time from your Kamero dashboard.
- Track unique visitors, total views, and peak access times.
- Use different QR codes for different placement locations to measure which placements drive the most scans.
- Typical scan rates: 40-70% of attendees at well-promoted events.
