Event Photography Shot List: Never Miss an Important Moment
The worst feeling as an event photographer is realizing after the event that you missed a key moment. A shot list prevents that. It's not about being rigid — it's about having a safety net so you can be creative while ensuring nothing important is missed.

Creating Custom Shot Lists
- Ask the client: "Are there any specific moments or people you want me to prioritize?"
- Get the timeline: Know when key moments happen so you're in position.
- Identify VIPs: Get names and photos of key people (grandparents, CEO, guest of honor) so you can recognize them.
- Share the list: Send the shot list to the client for approval. It sets expectations and prevents "you missed this" complaints.
Using the Shot List During the Event
- Print a small copy or keep it on your phone for quick reference.
- Check off shots as you capture them during natural breaks.
- Don't be a slave to the list — if a beautiful candid moment happens, capture it. The list is a safety net, not a script.
- With Kam-Sync uploading photos in real-time, an assistant can review the gallery and alert you if any key shots are missing while the event is still happening.
