Kam-Sync Multi-Camera Setup: Connect Multiple Photographers to One Gallery
Large events — weddings with 500+ guests, multi-day conferences, sports tournaments, music festivals — need more than one photographer. When multiple photographers are shooting simultaneously, you need a system that brings all their photos into one unified gallery without chaos. That is exactly what Kam-Sync's multi-camera setup does.
How Multi-Camera Kam-Sync Works
- Each photographer's camera is configured with its own FTP credentials.
- All cameras connect to the same Kamero event gallery.
- Photos from every camera appear in a single, unified gallery.
- Each camera can be directed to a specific album (ceremony, reception, backstage).
- Duplicate detection prevents the same photo from appearing twice.
Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1: Create the event and enable Kam-Sync
- Log into Kamero and create your event.
- Enable Kam-Sync in event settings.
- Create albums for different areas: "Main Stage," "Breakout Rooms," "Networking," "Awards."
Step 2: Generate FTP credentials for each camera
- Kamero generates unique FTP credentials for each camera connection.
- Each set of credentials is linked to a specific album (can be changed remotely).
- Label each credential set clearly: "Camera 1 - Main Stage," "Camera 2 - Networking."
Step 3: Configure each camera
- Enter the FTP server address (same for all cameras).
- Enter the unique username and password for each camera.
- Set transfer mode to "Auto transfer" on all cameras.
- Test each camera individually — take a test shot and verify it appears in the correct album.
Step 4: Set up internet connectivity
- Each photographer needs their own internet connection (mobile hotspot recommended).
- For venues with strong Wi-Fi, all cameras can share the network — but dedicated hotspots are more reliable.
- Test upload speeds from each photographer's position in the venue.
Remote Album Switching
One of Kam-Sync's most powerful features for multi-camera setups:
- Change which album a camera uploads to without touching the camera.
- A coordinator can manage album assignments from a phone or tablet.
- Example: Photographer 1 starts in "Ceremony" album, switches to "Reception" when the ceremony ends.
- No need to reconfigure FTP settings on the camera — it is all managed remotely.
Duplicate Detection
When multiple photographers cover the same area, duplicates are inevitable:
- Kam-Sync automatically detects and flags duplicate or near-duplicate photos.
- Only one version appears in the gallery — the best quality version is kept.
- This keeps the gallery clean without manual deduplication.
Team Coordination Tips
- Pre-event briefing: Assign each photographer their area, album, and shooting priorities.
- Communication: Use a WhatsApp group or walkie-talkies for real-time coordination.
- Review workflow: Assign one person (photographer or assistant) to review and approve photos from all cameras.
- Backup plan: If one camera's internet fails, that photographer can upload manually later.
Recommended Team Sizes
- Wedding (200-500 guests): 2-3 photographers.
- Corporate conference (500-1,000 attendees): 2-4 photographers.
- Music festival (multi-stage): 1 photographer per stage + 1-2 roaming.
- Sports tournament: 1-2 photographers per match + 1 for ceremonies.
Troubleshooting Multi-Camera Issues
- Photos going to wrong album: Check FTP credentials — each camera should have its own unique credentials linked to the correct album.
- Slow uploads: Check internet speed. Switch to a different hotspot or reduce JPEG quality.
- Missing photos: Kam-Sync queues photos when connectivity drops. They will upload when the connection returns.
- Duplicate photos: Duplicate detection handles this automatically. No manual intervention needed.
