Event Photo Download Permissions: Control Who Downloads What

Not every event guest should have the same level of access to your photo gallery. A corporate event might restrict downloads to registered attendees. A school event might allow parents to download only their child's photos. A photographer selling photos might disable free downloads entirely. Kamero gives you granular control over every aspect of photo access.

Download Permission Options

Allow all photos download

• Every gallery visitor can download any photo in original quality.
• Best for: Casual events, team outings, birthday parties where sharing is the priority.

My photos only (face-based)

• Guests can only download photos they appear in, identified via AI face recognition.
• Best for: Large events where privacy matters — corporate conferences, school events, political events.
• Guests take a selfie and can download only their matched photos.

Disable all downloads

• Guests can view photos in the gallery but cannot download any.
• Best for: Preview galleries, teaser galleries, or events where you want to drive photo sales.

Restrict original quality

• Allow downloads but only in web-optimized quality, not original resolution.
• Best for: Events where you want to share photos but reserve original quality for paying clients.

Anonymous download toggle

• Control whether unregistered visitors can download or only registered guests.
• Requiring registration captures guest information (name, email) before allowing downloads.

Combining Permissions with Other Controls

PIN + download permissions

Use a PIN to control who can access the gallery, then download permissions to control what they can do once inside:

• PIN protects the gallery from unauthorized access.
• Download permissions control what authorized visitors can download.
• Example: School event with PIN access + face-based downloads only.

Registration + download permissions

Require guests to register (name, email) before accessing the gallery:

• Captures attendee information for follow-up.
• Verified guests get download access based on your permission settings.
• Example: Corporate conference with registration + all photos download.

Permissions for Photo Sales Events

When selling photos via Sell Photos:

• Free downloads are disabled — guests see watermarked previews.
• After purchase, buyers receive unwatermarked originals automatically.
• This is configured automatically when you create a sale event.

Permissions by Event Type

• Weddings: Allow all downloads — the couple wants guests to have their photos.
• Corporate events: Face-based downloads + registration — privacy and lead capture.
• School events: PIN + face-based downloads — security for children's photos.
• Sports events (selling): Disable free downloads + enable photo sales.
• Concerts: Allow all downloads or enable photo sales depending on your model.
• Political events: Face-based downloads + PIN — maximum privacy control.

Changing Permissions After the Event

Permissions can be changed at any time from your Kamero dashboard:

• Start with restricted downloads during the event, then open up after.
• Enable photo sales during the event, then switch to free downloads after a period.
• Add or remove PIN protection as needed.
• Changes take effect immediately — no need to create a new gallery or send new links.
