100% in your browser — images never uploaded

Free Image Compressor

Shrink JPG, PNG, and WebP for the web or WhatsApp. Compression runs on your device — Kamero never sees your files.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Add your image

Drop a photo. It never leaves this device.

  2. Step 2

    Tune quality

Lower quality and optionally cap the longest side for web or WhatsApp.

  3. Step 3

    Download smaller file

Compression runs in your browser with Canvas. Compare sizes before you save.

FAQ

How does browser image compression work?

Your photo is decoded and re-encoded with Canvas in this tab. Quality and max dimension controls trade file size vs clarity. Nothing is uploaded.

Will PNG get smaller?

PNG is lossless, so quality sliders do little. For smaller files choose JPG or WebP as the output format.

Is this like Squoosh or TinyPNG?

Same idea as Squoosh: local processing. Unlike TinyPNG, Kamero never uploads your photo.

Can I compress for WhatsApp?

Yes. Lower quality and optionally cap the longest side. For a hard KB ceiling, use Compress to KB.

Is the compressor free?

Yes. No signup, no credits, no watermark on the download.

Do you store my images?

No. Files stay in browser memory for this session and are never sent to Kamero servers.

Why compress photos before sharing

Large RAW exports and phone HEIC conversions become heavy JPGs that choke WhatsApp, slow your photography website, and bounce off email gateways. A free image compressor that works offline in the browser lets you shrink file size while keeping enough quality for client review and social posts.

Browser compression vs TinyPNG-style uploads

Services like TinyPNG and iLoveIMG require an upload. Kamero re-encodes with Canvas quality and optional max-dimension controls on your device. Use JPG or WebP for the smallest files; PNG stays lossless so quality sliders barely help—convert first if you need a tiny PNG replacement.

WhatsApp, email, and portfolio sites

For WhatsApp, aim under a few hundred KB when possible. For portfolio pages, compress hero images but keep a separate full-resolution delivery path for paying clients. If a government or school portal demands an exact KB ceiling, switch to Compress to KB instead of guessing quality.
