FAQ
Can I compress an image to exactly 100 KB?
We target at or under your KB limit by adjusting quality and, if needed, dimensions. Exact byte matches are rare with JPEG/WebP.
Do you upload my photos?
No. Compression runs locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to Kamero servers.
Does 50 KB / 200 KB / 500 KB work too?
Yes. Use presets or type any target from about 10 KB upward.
JPG or WebP?
JPG is the safest for government and HR forms. WebP can be smaller when the portal accepts it.
What if it still exceeds the limit?
The tool warns you after aggressive downscaling. Crop tighter or start from a smaller original.
Is this free?
Yes. No signup, no watermark, no server upload.
Hit portal file-size limits
Job applications, visa forms, university portals, and exam sites often demand photos under 50 KB, 100 KB, or 200 KB. Guessing a quality slider wastes time. Compress to KB binary-searches quality and downscales when needed so the result lands at or under your target.
Exact bytes are rare—and that is OK
JPEG and WebP encoding is lossy; landing on exactly 102400 bytes is uncommon. Portals care that you are under the maximum. If the smallest attempt still exceeds the limit, the tool warns you so you can crop or start from a smaller master.
Private by design
Government and HR photos should not be uploaded to random compressors. This workflow stays in your browser—same privacy model as the rest of Kamero’s free image tools.
