How to Migrate from Pixieset to Kamero
This guide is for photographers moving event guest delivery from Pixieset to Kamero — or adding Kamero for the reception while keeping Pixieset for couple galleries. Read Kamero vs Pixieset first so expectations match each tool's job.
Before you start
- Download originals from Pixieset to your archive (NAS or cloud you control)
- Decide: full move vs hybrid (Pixieset client + Kamero guests)
- Confirm event date, guest count, and whether you need Kam-Sync on the day
Step 1 — Export from Pixieset
Use Pixieset's download tools for the gallery you are moving. Keep folder structure by segment (ceremony, reception) if you will recreate albums in Kamero.
Step 2 — Create a Kamero event
Sign in, create an event, set name and date. First event is free — use it to validate face search and QR before the wedding season.
Step 3 — Upload photos
- Bulk upload via browser or Kamero desktop app
- Live events: configure Kam-Sync FTP on each camera — multi-camera guide
Step 4 — Enable AI face recognition
Turn on face indexing so guests can selfie-search. Explain privacy to clients using event photo privacy guide.
Step 5 — QR and short link
Generate branded QR with the link generator. Print table cards — branded QR guide.
Step 6 — Optional Sell Photos
Enable watermarked previews and direct-pay sales — how selling works. No Kamero commission on direct-pay; INR PhonePe nuance as on KwikPic comparison.
Step 7 — Tell guests and retire old links
Update signage, MC script, and wedding planner packet. Keep Pixieset link for the couple if hybrid.
